The Oasis: frequently asked questions
We are one of the few hospitals in the country that provides a "hospital-based," medically supervised detox program. This allows us to safely and effectively detox patients with even the most severe addictions.
Additionally, if a patient has an accompanying medical or behavioral health condition that requires monitoring during detox, their condition can be assessed regularly by our trained medical staff.

What is the unit like?
All rooms in our unit are private and equipped with fully adjustable hospital beds for patient comfort and safety. All patient rooms, staff offices and group rooms are located in the same area for easy access.
How do I wash my clothes?
For the convenience of our patients, a laundry facility is located on the unit.
What are the visiting hours?
There are no set visiting hours. We ask that you call for visiting and support group hours, as they are customized to individual patient needs.
Can I call my family and friends while I am there?
Yes. There are no phones in patient rooms, but there are three patient phones located around the nurse's station for patient convenience.
How will you treat my withdrawal symptoms?
The supervised detox will include medications that help limit most of the discomfort associated with withdrawal. Medications may also be provided to ease symptoms of anxiety and to help patients sleep. Other medications may be administered based on individual's need.
What kind of care is available after detox?
Following medically supervised detox, The Oasis offers free aftercare meetings on a weekly basis. Our staff also helps connect patients with resources for aftercare, including outpatient psychiatry and residential assistance.
What should I bring with me?
When coming for an inpatient stay, we ask that patients bring comfortable, conservative, casual clothing for a four to five day stay. Be prepared to dress for both warm and cool temperatures, and bring basic toiletries that do not contain
What should I not bring with me?
We ask that patients do NOT bring the following items:
- Anything that would plug into a wall socket
- Cell phones or cellular devices
- Electronics, laptops or DVDs
- Food, including candy
- Medications, including prescription medications
- Products such as perfume, cologne or mouthwash
Will my insurance pay for treatment?
Our services are covered by most major insurances, including Medicare, Medicaid and Medipass. We are happy to assist patients verify insurance coverage.
When can I come?
Please call us at (866) 933-3869 or (866) WE-DETOX, and we will gather necessary information. We ask that patients call their insurance provider to determine coverage (or let us know if our assistance is needed). After this, we can discuss scheduling a date and time for admission.
